The 35th Control international trade fair for quality assurance has entered the home stretch. Just a few days to go: industry players will present their cutting-edge innovations in the fields of vision technology, image processing and sensor technology, as well as measuring and test technology, from the 9th through the 12th of May, 2023. Software, AI-supported operations, inline inspection processes, easy-to-use machines and automation are at the top of the agenda. The annual trade fair highlight will be rounded out with a world class supplementary programme.

The QA sector is looking forward to Control 2023. The international trade fair with leading global character is one of the most important dates in the calendars of many companies. Exhibition halls 3, 5, 7 and 9 in Stuttgart will once again serve as an outstanding business venue and unique technology centre for the QA sector. As a tradition, Control unites science and actual practice under a single roof and is a proven platform for the constructive exchange of ideas on an equal footing. Experts develop viable, forward-looking QA solutions for everyday operations in direct dialogue with the visitors. Currently trending issues include modern software, inline inspection processes and AI-assisted systems. Control offers a compact and well-structured overview of all leading QA solutions in a scope which is unavailable in such a concentrated format at any other trade fair – the bundled competence of the entire QA market is presented here.

High Levels of Internationalism and Forward-Looking Solutions

This year’s innovations– being presented by an international exhibitor community – will once again demonstrate the noteworthy capabilities of this growing industry. They’re making an important contribution to mastering today’s challenges, amongst others cost-effectiveness, quality, safety, the conservation of resources, efficiency and future viability on numerous levels. Modern test technology systems, integrated into automated, digitalised processes, provide support for autonomous process sequences, zero-defects production, individualisation, the efficient use of materials and sustainability. At the same time, all of these challenges are driving further developments in QA as well. With its customarily practical trade fair concept, this year’s Control will once again be an indispensable meeting place for suppliers and users. The high concentrations of expert visitors, its international orientation, the comprehensive presentation of QA issues and its easy accessibility directly at Stuttgart International Airport make Control an attractive and target-oriented business encounter.

World-Class Supplementary Programme Supports Technology Transfer

As a traditional part of Control’s supplementary programme, the corresponding events which accompany the trade fair are held by renowned research facilities of the Fraunhofer Institute, i.e. the Fraunhofer Vision Alliance and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation (IPA). They support the technology transfer and present developments which are currently ready for use, as well as forward-looking concepts for the enhancement of QA in industrial manufacturing.

Under the title “Applied AI for Sustainable Production – Possibilities and Limits of AI in Quality Assurance”, the Fraunhofer IPA Event Forum will focus on applications which make use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Trade fair visitors are provided with the opportunity of gathering information concerning pioneering technologies and the possible uses of modern measuring and test technology. Emphasis is placed on practical AI applications, whose possibilities and limitations in the field of quality assurance will be explored. The special show for “Contactless Measuring Technology” held by Fraunhofer’s Vision business unit will take place for the 17th time at Control 2023. It will present a broad spectrum of innovative technologies and applications from the field of contactless measuring and test technology in hall 7, and will provide users with guidance for managing their own testing tasks. The special show has established itself as an innovations marketplace for exhibitors and trade fair visitors. Visits to the Control Exhibitor Forum and the Startup Area in hall 7 will also be highly worthwhile.

“Control 2023 is ready for take-off”, says Bettina Schall, managing director of trade fair promoters P. E. Schall. “We’re looking forward to a lively and inspiring trade fair together with all exhibitors and guests. We extend a warm welcome to all expert visitors, who can expect lots of innovations in the fields of quality inspection and quality assurance.”
