NewTec GmbH, specialist for safety-related electronic systems, is presenting numerous innovations for wireless networking and safety engineering at this year’s SPS. From November 23 to 25, the focus in Nuremberg will be on expansions for the NTSecureGateway family and the new safety development platform NTSafeFlex STM32.

This year NewTec is again sponsor of the SPS and is presenting its new safety development platform NTSafeFlex STM32 for the first time at the international automation trade fair. The platform enables the development times of security-relevant applications to be shortened by up to 35 percent. The safety reference design and the associated comprehensive safety library (including firmware) were specifically developed for industrial applications with high safety requirements and can be certified up to SIL 3.

Another focus area is new solutions for the wireless networking of machines and components in production. With NTStarEcho, NewTec presents a new radio technology based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for connecting safety-critical systems. Thanks to an innovative star topology, NTStarEcho enables low-latency and scalable wireless networking even in scenarios with high security requirements such as the exchange of information between fast-moving tools and machines or in the area of human-robot cooperation.

The NTSecureGateway family is also growing. Two new expansion modules for the NTSecureGateway 1000 enable wireless communication via LoRaWAN and UWB. The extensions are available as plug-on modules for the NTSecureGateway and only work in combination with it. The UWB extension module based on a Decawave module is ideal for connections up to 30 m; the technology enables localization accurate to 10 cm and a high data transfer rate. For medium and long distances up to 15 km NewTec presents the LoRaWAN extension module. It enables connections with lower data transmission rates in the license-free LoRa network, where no localization requirements are made.

Visitors will find NewTec in Hall 5, Stand 141.
