Manufacturer-independent automation, holistic IT / OT networking and a unique industrial transport solution – tech group Schneider Electric is presenting itself at this year’s SPS trade fair with visionary technologies for the green and digital industry of the future.
The SPS trade fair will take place in Nuremberg from November 23rd to 25th. Tech group Schneider Electric should not be missing at the hybrid trade fair for smart and digital automation. As a full-service provider for industrial hardware and software components, this year the company is showing groundbreaking solutions for manufacturer-independent automation as well as market-leading technologies that enable more productivity, agility and efficiency in the food and packaging industry, for example.
In addition, visitors can find out about the latest trends in terms of IIoT-compliant motor outlet and safety technology. A special highlight: Schneider Electric will be presenting its latest industrial transport system, the Lexium MC12 Multi Carrier , in Hall 1, Stand 540 .
Manufacturer-independent automation: EcoStruxure Automation Expert
For the future of automation, Schneider Electric relies on the IEC 61499 standard. With the EcoStruxure Automation Expert , automated applications can be modeled in a purely software- centered manner, independent of the manufacturer. Once the program structures have been created, they can then be freely transferred to the mechatronic components and there is no need for complex interface configuration. In this way, engineering and time-to-market are significantly accelerated, cost savings can be realized and enable a significant competitive advantage. In addition, new business models based on IT logics can be derived – such as an app store for automation.
Machine networking and data integration
Schneider Electric has developed its GreenBox range for the digital, control-independent networking of existing machines and heterogeneous machine landscapes. On the iPC Harmony P6 contained therein , not only can data from different machines be merged – a variety of software applications for KPI monitoring, predictive maintenance or remote management can also be installed on it. For example the system platform from AVEVA or the software advisors .
Software and digital services
In order to generate added value from data, Schneider Electric has put together a complete range of software solutions for industrial applications. They make it possible to use optimization potential in terms of productivity, flexibility and efficiency along the entire value chain and in all phases of a plant’s life cycle. In addition to the Line Monitoring System LMS Life for individually adjustable monitoring of all KPIs, this also includes advisor solutions tailored to specific tasks – software tools that use data analyzes to visualize performance, support maintenance and validate operational and strategic decisions.
Through targeted partnerships, Schneider Electric’s software range has been continuously adapted to the special requirements of the respective target markets. In addition to AVEVA or OSIsoft, ProLeiT AG , which specializes in industry-specific MES solutions for the consumer goods and food industry , can be named here.
New transport solution for industry: Lexium MC12 Multi Carrier
Lexium MC12 is the new multi-carrier solution from Schneider Electric. With the simple, modular installation method and a large variety of functions, completely new machine designs can be implemented. In discrete manufacturing, significantly more compact systems with extremely short throughput times can be implemented using the Multi Carrier. Supported by a digital twin application, Lexium MC12 also offers intelligent planning, diagnosis and maintenance options. Overall, with the pioneering Multi Carrier solution, not only can the production of the smallest batch sizes be economically profitable, downtimes and retooling times are also kept to a minimum that is decisive for competition.
