With new monitoring modules, Wöhner, leading solution provider in the field of power distribution, control technology and renewable energies, is expanding its portfolio to cover all tasks of measurement technology: measuring, analysing, visualising, communicating and responding.

The new modules for comprehensive monitoring of the control cabinet allow complete control of the corresponding system – from cost-optimised measurement at central points to monitoring of the entire control cabinet. Following the fully integrated solutions MOTUS C14 and OMUS C14 as well as the modular measurement technology adapter CrossMT, they now round off Wöhner’s measurement technology range.

Mounting on the DIN rail for comprehensive integration

The devices can be integrated into all Wöhner basic systems and into the Wöhner cosmos. They are mounted directly on the DIN rail or via adapters. In this way, current transformers provide the measuring values in the application in the first step, while Modbus TCP enables the connection of MOTUS C14, OMUS C14 as well as CrossMT.

With Ethernet, RS485, USB interfaces as well as the commonly used communication protocols, the new modules can be integrated into all corresponding structures. In addition, internal connections can be established via a proprietary standard, which minimises wiring requirements.

Comfortable and intuitive installation

The configuration, commissioning and operation of the new components takes place via application software on the PC or via defined buttons directly on the device. This makes the modules particularly comfortable to install and use – not least thanks to the large, clear displays that guide the user safely through the menu.

Collection point and evaluation centre

The new modules serve as a collection point for all data in the cabinet, evaluate them and pass on the analyses to the user. In combination with current transformers of 1 and 5 A as well as 333 mV, they measure current and voltage, analyse active, apparent and reactive power, but also the power factor, harmonics and much more.

This means that a wide range of applications can be realised: from monitoring individual products to monitoring a complete energy distribution ecosystem. Here, the user can choose between cost-optimised or power-maximised operation. In addition, an integrated storage capacity is available.

“With the new monitoring modules, Wöhner offers a holistic solution portfolio for measuring and monitoring that fully covers all areas such as energy monitoring or condition monitoring, identifies potential savings and thus contributes to more sustainability in the control cabinet,” explains Peter Spiel, Vice President Product Management at Wöhner.
