Especially for automation solutions in areas of application in which condensation and dripping water forms due to the ambient or production conditions, RK Rose+Krieger has expanded its series of toothed belt-driven linear axes of the type RK MonoLine with a completely corrosion-protected variant in the common size 80.

The compact linear units of the RK MonoLine series from RK Rose+Krieger impress with their high power density and very good price-performance ratio. Specially designed for highly dynamic, repeatable pick & place, palletizing, loading and unloading processes in the medium load segment, they combine high rigidity with smooth running behavior, a repeatability of +/- 0.05 mm and a maximum acceleration of 20 m/s².

Comprehensive protection against corrosion

With the new corrosion-protected RK MonoLine Z80, RK Rose+Krieger not only replaced all parts that are made of steel in the standard version with stainless steel components. Corrosion-resistant material was also chosen for the toothed belt: in the case of the corrosion-protected axle variant, it consists of polyurethane with stainless steel cord (HTD 8M RF LL ).

In addition, prefabricated drainage holes are provided for the vertical use of the axis in the toothed belt deflection, which can be opened by the customer if necessary so that condensation water can drain off. Typical applications of the corrosion-protected RK MonoLine are automated removal systems from injection molding or compression molding machines, where water mist, condensation and downstream dripping water are to be expected.

Numerous practical features

Like all axes of the RK MonoLine Z series, the new corrosion-protected linear unit also has a variable mounting concept for almost all motors on the market. This means that the motor position no longer has to be specified when ordering. It can also be adapted later to the current situation. Optional clamping and grooved strips reduce the design effort and facilitate customer-specific adaptation. Profile grooves offer the greatest possible flexibility when attaching customer-specific accessories such as energy chains, hose holders or limit or proximity switches for switching off the end position. The payload is securely fastened using the slot nuts with threaded holes that are available as accessories. For the user, this means less construction work,
