PULS is presenting an innovation in the field of field power supplies at the SPS: FIEPOS FPT500 is a 3-phase power supply with 600 W output power, four electronically secured outputs and a fully integrated EtherCAT connection for direct access to power supply functions and numerous measured values.

Field power supplies are often installed in hard-to-reach areas or large facilities. Integration into industrial networks, such as EtherCAT, simplifies commissioning and optimized operation of the complete system. This enables central configuration and monitoring of the power supply parameters, such as: B. the input and output voltage and current values, the tripping characteristics of the integrated electronic fuses and the adjustable alarm limits. The central control saves service technicians time and local attempts to manipulate the power supplies are ruled out.

The measured values recorded can be used to monitor the power supply and system status in real time and to respond immediately in the event of deviations from the standard. This monitoring is particularly helpful in conjunction with mechanical system components, such as drives. Even gradual wear can be detected in good time based on the application data and the necessary service work can be carried out before a failure. If an error does occur, the FPT500 allows the system control system to intervene actively due to the rapid alarm notification via EtherCAT. By directly reducing the power of drives, energy consumption can be reduced in the short term, for example. In the event of serious errors, the system can also be safely shut down.

No additional gateways are necessary to connect the 3-phase power supply FPT500.245-018-103ETC to the EtherCAT control system, which saves installation time and acquisition costs. Thanks to the peak power of 1000 W for 5 seconds and the helpful power supply data, further cost savings are possible: a “buffer” for unknown energy consumers can be eliminated and the system’s power supply system can be optimized with regard to the number of devices and installation position.

A high efficiency of 95.6% is an outstanding feature of the PULS power supplies, as is the user-friendly installation, which is made possible either by fastening with screws or by mounting on the DIN rail without tools. The safe-to-use M12, 7/8″ and M8 connections for inputs and outputs as well as the EtherCAT connection and the local LED user interface make the FPT500 a universal and smart performance package for decentralized energy supply.

PULS is presenting the new FIEPOS with EtherCAT at the SPS at the EtherCAT Technology Group Stand 310 in Hall 5.
