Siemens 3SK Relays offer a quick and easy implementation of standard and complex safety applications without major modifications to the existing systems. It is a common challenge though that many times several systems must be combined, modified, or rebuilt under a common safety structure. 3SK relays can be combined in a modular way to provide a quick, robust, and easy implementation in such case.
This concept enables, using 3SK Safety Relays, interconnection of all desired systems in a daisy chain architecture that can achieve the desired safety level of the overall system. Using locally installed safety sensors, all connected system parts can be switched-off.
For example, in a system with several conveyor belts, if a conveyor’s belt Emergenca Stop switch is activated, the entire chain of the electrically cascaded conveyor belts is brought to a safety standstill. The position of the module, where the safety function is called, in the network is irrelevant. The number of linked modules can also be chosen arbitrarily.
