IDS, a leading manufacturer of industrial cameras, is set to showcase its latest innovations in 2D, 3D, and AI sectors at VISION 2024. The company, which introduced the first industrial camera with a USB interface in 2004, is also introducing a new camera category for monitoring applications and prototypes of a self-developed, cost-effective time-of-flight 3D camera.
Philipp Ohl, Head of Product Management at IDS, announced that the company will present a large number of new developments at booth 8C60 at the Stuttgart trade fair. One of the interesting products will be a 2D camera with an event-based sensor, which will benefit motion analyses or high-speed counting. IDS is also expanding its range of sensors, including the Sony Starvis 2 sensors IMX662, IMX664, IMX675, and IMX676, which offer impressive low-light performance and are available in the entry-level cameras of the uEye XCP and XLS series.
“In October, we will be presenting a large number of new and further developments at booth 8C60 at the Stuttgart trade fair,” announces Philipp Ohl, Head of Product Management at IDS. “One of the particularly interesting products will be a 2D camera with an event-based sensor, which will benefit motion analyses or high-speed counting.” The 2D camera product area is proving to be extremely dynamic in the VISION year. IDS is expanding the range for customers and applications with many new sensors. Particularly noteworthy are the Sony Starvis 2 sensors IMX662, IMX664, IMX675 and IMX676, which enable impressive low-light performance and are available in the entry-level cameras of the uEye XCP and XLS series.
Robotics applications depend heavily on 3D information. With Ensenso B, IDS will soon be presenting on the market an extremely compact 3D camera that can operate at close range and with a wide field of view. The stereo vision camera measures just 120 x 56 x 104 millimeters and provides 3D information from a distance of around 20 centimeters. At VISION, it will be shown in one of many demo systems. But that’s not all: IDS is presenting the first time-of-flight 3D camera developed entirely in-house as a prototype.
In addition, IDS will demonstrate further developments in image processing with artificial intelligence, including the all-in-one IDS NXT ecosystem, which was recently expanded to include the IDS NXT Malibu camera model. The edge device combines on-camera AI, 4K streaming and video compression. Visitors to the stand will also be able to learn how characters can be reliably recognized even under difficult conditions thanks to DENKnet and the associated high-performance OCR model.
