For exactly 40 years, Yaskawa Electric has been supplying complete robot-based welding systems from its European plant engineering company. The company is marking this anniversary with a spotlight at EuroBLECH with a complex arc welding cell. Stand D56 in Hall 26 also displays the latest Motoman robot models for spot welding, laser hybrid welding, arc welding and cobot welding, as well as processing tasks and control technology.

In the demo welding cell, four robots from the Motoman AR series work on one battery carrier. Equipped with arc welding sources from each company, they dance with enthusiasm to the “multi-robot synchro” function, which precisely synchronizes the robots and positioners. The robots can be controlled synchronously or independently in groups of two, three or four. The positioner, RWV2, is also Yaskawa’s own product and is an example of welding systems of all sizes that the company has been planning and installing in Europe for 40 years.

Ideal for demanding tasks such as arc welding, laser welding and spot welding

In addition, the AR and SP series welding robots show their strengths in arc welding, laser welding and spot welding. The AR series supports every conceivable welding process. The SP series is a flexible and powerful spot welding robot that is also suitable for handling applications. Laser hybrid applications on the trade fair highlight advantages such as welding speed, excellent seam quality, more stable processes and reduced distortion of parts.

Collaborative welding with Weld4Me CE

The Weld4Me CE cell is a user-friendly, collaborative robot-based arc welding station with Cobot HC10DT IP67A that offers a solution for small and medium-sized enterprises with small batch sizes and high variations. As an alternative or supplement to the easy-to-install manual MIG/MAG welding with air-cooled welding machines, it increases productivity while ensuring a consistently high weld seam quality.

Leading provider of drive, servo and control technology

Finally, the company will present the Motoman robot servo drive from its own production. At EuroBLECH, Yaskawa Electric wants to demonstrate its expertise as a leading provider not only of drive and servo technology, but also of control technology. The iCube Control automation platform is gradually being expanded into a comprehensive system for motion control and automation, and technologically tailored complete solutions for industry-specific control, from engineering software to controller hardware and integrated chip technology. Yaskawa Electric exhibits at EuroBLECH 2024 (October 22-25, 2024, Deutsche Messe, Hannover): Stand 26-D56
