The trade fair for smart and digital automation will feature around 1,200 exhibitors in a total of 16 exhibition halls. IDS is taking part for the first time and is focusing on industrial image processing for robotics, process automation and networked systems. Philipp Ohl, Head of Product Management at IDS, explains: “They work together like a key and a lock. Depending on the task, very different qualities are required, especially high-resolution images, ultra-fast cameras and models with integrated intelligence.”
IDS’ highlights can be divided into three areas: 2D, 3D and AI-based image processing. With uEye Live, the company is presenting its newly developed product line. These industrial-grade surveillance cameras enable live streaming and are designed for continuous monitoring and documentation of processes. In addition, IDS is introducing new event-based sensors that are recommended for motion analysis and high-speed counting. Rapid changes can be efficiently captured through continuous pixel-by-pixel detection instead of the usual image-by-image sequential analysis.
In the 3D camera product segment, IDS is demonstrating the benefits of its new Ensenso B stereo vision cameras for precise close-range order picking tasks as well as the prototype of the first time-of-flight camera developed entirely in-house. Anyone interested in robust text recognition will find what they are looking for on the trade fair floor.
