New versions of the NearFi  contactless power and real-time Ethernet data transmission

New variants of the NearFi couplers from Phoenix Contact allow you to double the range of wireless data transmission. They also provide double the power for automatic current equalization or the transfer of two electrically isolated voltages (US/UA) when connected in parallel.

A particularly powerful radio board doubles the communication range, up to 100 mm. Connecting two NearFi coupler routes in parallel allows for double the power transfer (up to 100 W) or the transfer of two electrically isolated voltages (50 W US/UA respectively). The IP65 devices feature a new standardized M12 connection (L/D coded) with duo contour. This ensures flexible field cabling with conventional M12 screw connectors or push-pull quick locks.

NearFi is a real-time contactless transmission technology. It enables the transmission of power and data across the air gap. Protocol-independent, delay-free Ethernet communication opens up flexible application options for all Ethernet protocols up to 100 MBit/s. This means that wear-prone connections and slip rings in industrial applications can be easily replaced, minimizing downtime costs. Successful data exchange is signaled by an LED ring that is visible from any position. NearFi couplers are as easy to operate as plug connectors.

In the factory of the future, moving applications will no longer have physical connections. Production downtimes due to bent or worn contacts are a thing of the past. Robots change tools quickly and efficiently. The unmanned transport system receives transport orders without contact.
