Finder’s catalogue dedicated to the OPTA smart relay expands further with the launch of OPTA Codesys, an 8A Series product based on the world’s first independent development environment for PLCs, designed for programming according to the international industry standard IEC 61131-3.
Compliance with this international standard makes Codesys a very popular software development environment in the world of industrial automation, as it can be used on a wide range of PLCs on which, in addition to programming, it offers tools for simulation, hardware configuration, visualisation and project management.
The implementation of this environment makes OPTA a programmable device with languages such as IL, ST, LD, FBD, SFC, thus a PLR with a high level of interoperability and, in fact, unique on the market.
The new OPTA – premiered in Nuremberg during the last SPS and which will be available in the catalogue during 2025 – will feature 8 analogue or digital inputs, 4 10A relay outputs and USB Type C connectivity, RJ45 port, RS485 port and internal Wi-Fi module. The range will also include three expansion modules dedicated specifically to the Codesys® environment.
