Omron has announced the launch of its latest non-contact security door switch, the D40A-2. Non-contact safety door switches are essential for stopping machinery as soon as an access door is opened, ensuring worker safety and preventing accidents near running equipment.
The D40A-2 uses Hall effect sensing and a coded magnetic actuator, reducing wiring costs and installation complexity. Its versatile design fits both swing and sliding doors in a wide range of applications, from single wafer cleaning equipment and filling machines to robotic manufacturing.
The D40A-2 meets the highest safety standards (PL e/Cat. 4) Series connection also supports up to 30 switches in a single application over long distances of up to 200 meters. This feature allows manufacturers to protect multiple access points with a single security controller. The D40A-2 features robust diagnostics, auxiliary outputs for relay operation, and supports multiple configurations (PNP or bipolar NPN/PNP).
The D40A-2 features a label-free direct laser marking design to meet the strict hygiene and shelf life standards of the food and beverage industry. It has an IP66/IP67 waterproof rating and ECOLAB certified chemical resistance, ensuring resistance to water jets and aggressive cleaning agents.
