Offering ranges of up to 30 metres (SLC440COM) and 60 metres (SLG440COM), they provide dependable hand and body protection while allowing for monitoring at extended distances with minimal installation effort.
Moreover, the safety light curtains and grids feature a Bluetooth LE interface that, alongside the ‘SLC Assist’ app created by Schmersal, shows status updates from devices and offers extensive diagnostic information. The updated version of the ‘SLC Assist’ app provides enhanced features – for instance, it now allows users to calculate the necessary safety clearance for the hazardous zone.
The SLC440COM/SLG440COM series safety light curtains and grids protect hazardous zones and regions in applications like presses, robotic cells, and palletizing systems. With their extended ranges, the latest iterations of the SLC440COM/SLG440COM can now effectively safeguard extensive production systems, conveyors, or the platforms of autonomous underground trains. By utilizing deflecting mirrors, complete zones can be secured and observed using only one safety light curtain or grid. This approach lowers both the installation effort and the purchasing expenses.
The Bluetooth connection and the application allow for real-time access to all status and diagnostic information related to the operational status of the light grid/curtain on a smartphone or tablet. The Schmersal app additionally provides comprehensive assistance for legal testing and documentation, including features like a built-in operating hours counter and the recording of the outputs’ switching frequency.
The new version of the app now also includes a function for determining the safety clearance to the danger area in accordance with EN ISO 13855. Thanks to the intuitive user interface, all essential data can be easily captured and the calculated results retrieved. The app also suggests specific products from the Schmersal range: A single click takes the directly to the corresponding product in the Schmersal online catalogue.
