At this year’s bauma, GEFRAN is presenting its new GR3P angle sensor. It was specially developed for mobile work machines and delivers precise results in a measuring range of 360 degrees, even under demanding environmental conditions.
From April 7th to 13th, GEFRAN will be presenting its solutions for monitoring and controlling mobile work machines at the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, bauma in Munich. The highlight is the new GR3P angle sensor. It serves the industry’s increasing demand for sensor technology, automation and digitization as well as safety.
One sensor for many machine parameters
With a measuring range of 360 degrees, the GR3P enables different applications to optimize the use of mobile work machines. For example, it can monitor the positions in hydraulic systems and thus increase the efficiency of construction machines, for example. With a steering angle measurement, it enables precise control of the machine. In addition, it can be used to precisely monitor inclination angles, so that safety measures such as stopping the machine can be carried out automatically when critical values are reached. The GR3P is versatile and available with 32 mm and 50 mm center distance.
Reliable in demanding environmental conditions
The angle sensor was specially developed for mobile work machines and therefore for use in demanding environmental conditions. It uses Hall effect technology. The position of the sensor is determined via the sinusoidal overlap of magnetic fields. This allows the GR3P to work without contact, which means minimal wear and a long service life. In addition, the GR3P has a robust housing with protection classes IP67 and IP69K. It protects it against mechanical stress and environmental influences and ensures its efficient operation. In addition, the GR3P is E1 certified and therefore complies with the European standards for the electromagnetic compatibility of motor vehicles. This means that it can be used in both on-road and off-road vehicles.
GEFRAN raises safety standards
Mobile work machines are one of the areas of expertise for which GEFRAN develops and manufactures specific components and solutions. The portfolio includes sensors for position, pressure, temperature and force measurement. In addition to performance optimization and control precision, they also meet the increasing safety requirements for mobile work machines. In 2025, GEFRAN will certify its products according to SIL2 and set up a portfolio with PLd-certified and CANopen Safety-compatible products.
