The countdown to the opening of the Italian event on industrial automation as usual in Parma from May 20th to the 22nd is 3 days.

With its double figure growth both in terms of exhibitors, more than  580 ( +13 %), and exhibiting area, 48.000 square meters ( + 20%), SPS Italia reaffirms its benchmark role in the Italian scenario of  electric automation, starting its fourth edition with very good  preconditions. As a matter of fact, beyond figures, there will also be two pavilions with relax areas along the way, and an “Open lounge” linking pavilions to favor the visitors flow and to allow moments to relax.

All in all also the themes of the 2014 edition double with a “double fil rouge”. After last year’s success of the focus on food industry which led 37 % more end user to visit the event, this year in addition to the focus on Food& Beverage matter of the Round Table of May 21st, the Round Table of the last day will deal with Pharma&Beauty, and will be a magnifying glass focusing on the pharmaceutical and beauty industry. Besides the two fil rouge there will be another leitmotiv covering all round the world of automation and all its aspects: innovation.

Plenty of events and initiatives will be devoted to this theme. Starting with the opening round table “Automation 4.0: Innovation and competitiveness for Italian industry” with the participation of key players of the automation sector such as Sonia Bonfiglioli-Bonfiglioli, Roberto Centazzo-CNA Emilia Romagna, Arturo Baroncelli-COMAU,  Marino Crippa – Bosch Rexroth, Fabrizio Scovenna-Rockwell Automation, Alberto Dossi –Sapio, Filippo Giannini –Siemens.

The  debate, moderated by Massimo Russo, director of the magazine Wired, will be a unique occasion to talk about “Industry 4.0” in terms  of transformation of the productive processes. Machines  communicating and interacting with each other, cloud computing, virtual plants and internet of things by now are facts necessary to safeguard the established competitive advantage. The opening  works are in the care of the organizers of SPS IPC Drives Italia supported by Giuliano Busetto, President ANIE Automazione who will present the industry data, by the philosopher Franco Bolelli and  by Giambattista Gruosso, Professor at Politecnico di Milano. During  the two following days the sector stakeholders will alternate on the  stage of the conference halls of SPS Italia.
