Splendid omen for the trade fair duo Intec and Z as most important venue for the metal working and processing segment in Germany in 2015. Exhibitors have already booked 20% more floor space compared to the 2013 event and there are still two months before the trade fairs open their doors. About 1,400 exhibitors from 30 countries are expected to be on hand. The specialized program offers a varied range of events from the Conference on Resource-efficient Production and Generative Production through to the Special Exhibit on Fiber Composite Structures. Trade visitors also have an opportunity to experience the “Lean Factory” as the newly added facet of the specialized program.
“Leipzig will once again become the focal point of the metal working and processing industry in February of 2015. Never before have we anticipated so many German and international exhibitors at the Intec and Z. And the range of technologies and innovations on display has never been so broad and interesting, as it is turning out to be for the upcoming event”, emphasizes Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe. Just two months till the start of the event, the Intec has already reported a 20% increase in the exhibition area compared to the prior event. For instance, 10% more exhibitors from Baden-Württemberg have already registered this year. Together with Saxony, they represent the two federal states with the largest number of participants. “That once again confirms the profile and appeal of the trade fair duo. The 2015 iterations of the Intec and Z are evolving into driving forces for the industry”, Geisenberger adds.
Intec welcomes prominent new exhibitors for all exhibition areas such as Amada Machine Tools, Danobat Overbeck, Emco Maier, EMAG, Eurolaser, die FFG Werke, Ghiringhelli, Sodick oder Toyoda Machinery, Iscar, Korloy, die Komet Group, Comet Schleifscheiben, Urma AG, Yaskawa, Rose Systemtechnik, item, Cognex and FARO Europe. The largest group of international exhibitors participating in the Intec come from Switzerland, Italy and Austria, whereas Poland, Czech Republic and Italy lead the statistics in terms of the largest number of international exhibitors participating in the Z – Subcontracting Fair. Newcomers this year include a group of companies from the Danish CFU Center for Subcontractors and Suppliers.
Experiencing innovations live
The program of supporting events offers a broad spectrum of innovative topics. For the first time, trade fair visitors in Leipzig can experience the Lean Factory training center and get an idea of production based completely on lean principles. A variety of products will be manufactured in a live demonstration on a “mixed-model” production line that will be set up in Hall 4. The simulation encompasses prefabrication and integration of suppliers. The demonstration is organized by the “Lean Factory Group”, a consortium of innovative companies specializing in process optimization. The “Lean Factory” network has over 20 years of experience in implementing and introducing lean processes in every segment of the German industry. A forum is also planned to take place on February 26 at the Intec and Z to cover and explain in detail different aspects of the Lean Factory principle.
The spotlight is also being directed at “Generative Processes”. For instance, the Beam Melting Network is organizing a workshop entitled “Generative Production Technologies – Industrial 3D Printing Offers New Opportunities for Innovative Products and Their Production” to provide insight in the industrial application of 3D printing technologies and will show companies possibilities and opportunities for the use of generative manufacturing techniques in everyday business and production. In addition to highlighting already established applications, the workshop will attempt to provide a realistic outlook of the future of generative manufacturing techniques and their broad scope of prospective industrial applications – beyond the hype that 3D printers have generated in media. An exclusive event packed with in-depth information is also being planned on this topic for exhibitors of the Intec and Z trade fairs.
The special exhibit entitled “Fiber Reinforced Composites en route to Serial Production” offers participating exhibitors an opportunity to use their exhibits to highlight the wide variety of possible uses of state-of-the-art composite materials and the current state of technology for serial production. A specialized forum that is directly integrated in the exhibition area will emphasize and focus on the current state of development with interesting presentations by recognized experts in the field.
Information about Intec and Z
The Intec and Z will open their doors in Leipzig from February 24 to 27 as the most important venue for the metal working and processing industry in Germany in 2015. The focal point is production technologies for metal processing and the support and subcontracting industry.
The product range of the Intec’s exhibitors primarily includes machine tools, automated production and robotics, laser and welding technology, precision tools, tool systems, instrumentation and control equipment, quality assurance and production-related software solutions. The Z – Subcontracting Fair includes exhibitors specializing in parts, components and assemblies and contract manufacturing, development and technology partners as well as service providers from all over Germany and Central Europe.
In 2013 the Intec and Z brought 21,400 visitors from 27 countries to Leipzig’s exhibition center. 1,352 exhibitors from 29 countries displayed their range of services and innovative products during the course of the four days.
