A highlight of CODESYS at the SPS Fair 2024 is the virtual safety controller certified according to IEC 61508 SIL3, for any device, in any quantity. The functional virtual PLC CODESYS Virtual Safety Control SL is also on display.
Virtual CODESYS controls can be installed on any platform using containers. Depending on the need, they can be installed in different performance classes and in multiple instances, on local devices, PCs, servers and even on cloud platforms. They are now certified as safety controllers for SIL3 applications according to IEC 61508. Abstracting the machine controller to a virtual PLC significantly reduces the purchase, commissioning, expansion, maintenance and decommissioning efforts.
The established Industry 4.0 management platform CODESYS Automation Server offers important innovations such as remote maintenance and diagnostics of controllers in local and distributed networks as well as orchestration and management of virtual controllers. New is the convenient centralized management of security certificates for integrated controls up to notifications about expiring certificates. Centralized file management for connected controls also includes extensive extensions, such as the ability to save files directly to the cloud.
CODESYS at SPS 2024
At SPS, the CODESYS Group will exhibit a live demonstration of virtual control and the easy use and management of the new virtual safety PLCs from CODESYS. With the Industry 4.0 platform CODESYS Automation Server, they will show how data in the cloud can be easily viewed and analyzed without any IT knowledge.
