User guide for configuring a Windows PC to become an EtherCAT master allowing for an Ethernet over EtherCAT (EoE) connection between a Windows PC running either CODESYS Control Win V3 or TwinCAT 3 and a Control Techniques SI-EtherCAT capable drive.
This document walks the user through the required steps to configure an EoE connection between an SI-EtherCAT capable Control Techniques drive and a Windows PC running either CODESYS V3.5 SP18 Patch 2 with CODESYS Control Win V3 Version 3.5.18.20 or later or TwinCAT 3.1 Build 4024 or later.
An EoE connection allows users to configure drives such as Digitax HD M753 (EtherCAT), using Connect, without having to configure the system PLC’s EtherCAT Master functionality and removes the need for additional hardware to establish PC comms to the drive.
The example CODESYS project has been designed to work with an M700 equipped with an SI- EtherCAT module fitted and a Windows PC running CODESYS V3.5 SP18 Patch 2 and CODESYS Control Win V3 Version 3.5.18.20 however the project can be adapted to work with other drives that are compatible with SI-EtherCAT in addition to drives with integrated SI-EtherCAT such as the Digitax HD M753.
