Under the motto “Shaping the future”, the manufacturer GEFRAN is presenting its latest developments in its core areas of sensor technology and automation. The focus is on components that support users in the digitalization and networking of their production in Industry 4.0.

GEFRAN has a comprehensive product portfolio of sensors and automation platforms with which the company increases the efficiency of production processes. From November 12 to 14, 2024, the manufacturer will be showing its solutions at the SPS in Nuremberg. At the new stand 142 in Hall 7A, trade visitors can experience GEFRAN developments for sensor technology and automation live.

Reliable sensors for numerous process variables

In the sensor technology area, the focus is on precise and reliable sensors for pressure, temperature and position measurement. As a new product, GEFRAN will be presenting its ultra-compact KMC pressure transmitter for mobile hydraulics. In the pressure transmitters in this series, a sensor element is applied to a steel membrane. Additionally equipped with SMD electronics, the KMC sensors are extremely robust and reliable. They have a digital output for the CAN Open and CAN SAE J1939 protocols.

The sensors in the LM series are suitable for both mobile hydraulics and for use in industrial environments. They use GEFRAN’s TWIIST technology for contactless, wear-free position detection. In addition to the position, the intelligent position sensors also measure other process variables such as inclination, rotation, acceleration and vibrations. They detect irregularities in the process and relate this information to one another. Depending on the model, they have an analog or digital output for CAN Open and IO-Link.

Power controllers for efficient heat management

In automation, GEFRAN is focusing this year on its high-quality semiconductor relays and power controllers. They ensure efficient control of machines and systems and are I4.0-ready. Highlights include the power controllers of GEFRAN’s GRx platform. One of the latest components in the series is the compact single-phase power controller GRM-H for 10 to 120 A. It is particularly suitable for the heat management of complex electrical loads, such as infrared lamps or silicon carbide heating elements. Equipped with all important operating modes such as zero crossing, burst group operation, half-waves or phase control, the control can be adapted to different properties of the heating elements.
