Kontron offers through its subsidiary Kontron AIS GmbH, a provider of industrial software, the software tool FabEagle®connect, which links manufacturing and IT. It enables fast and reliable data transfer and supports various interface standards.

FabEagle®connect is a software for interface integration and can be used quickly and flexibly for both existing and new systems. It enables machine builders and factory operators to create fast and reliable connectivity for their Industry 4.0 and IoT applications in the manufacturing and IT environment. The modular and configurable structure of FabEagle®connect offers a variety of ready-made functions and interfaces for manufacturing and IT.

These include cloud interfaces for transferring data from manufacturing to big data applications via REST, MQTT or AMQP as well as standard IT interfaces for connecting manufacturing with business processes such as OPC UA, SOAP, FTP and TCP/IP. Automation interfaces for data transfer of Siemens, Beckhoff or Omron controllers are also part of the standard offering.

After only a few minutes of training, interfaces can be configured, data can be provided immediately, and targeted data processing can be performed. This way, machine and system manufacturers can create the basis for their own IoT and cloud applications such as e.g. predictive maintenance. Factory operators can use the software tool to link their production with IT systems in order to control production processes in a targeted manner and thus save costs.

The transparency gained also offers the possibility of data analysis and process optimization. A continuous operation of the interfaces is ensured by various diagnostic functions. Applications for the transfer of small and large data volumes can be implemented without additional workload. Detailed documentation enables the user to create additional components for special interfaces and data transformations in the programming language C#
