When facing major challenges, it is crucial for mechanical engineers to strengthen resilience and develop new competitive advantages. At SPS in Nuremberg, Lenze will be showcasing solutions that enable OEMs to sustainably increase productivity and efficiency despite a lack of resources, IT know-how, high costs and pressure to innovate. Visitors can experience the new Lenze Nupano Suite, the new generation of controllers, the Edge Series and the new m550 motor drive system in efficiency class IE5/IE7 at Lenze stand 391 in hall 7.
The Lenze Nupano Suite covers the entire machine lifecycle and provides answers to megatrends such as energy efficiency, AI and the shortage of skilled labor in development. This helps customers significantly reduce engineering times, meet cybersecurity requirements and develop digital revenue models. From planning and operation to digital business models
During the planning phase, users have full access to planning and design tools such as EASY System Designer. This assistant supports the planning of any project, from single-axis applications to complex machine solutions. Calculation models based on Lenze’s deep domain knowledge and experience result in energy-efficient drive systems. Machine processes are modularized, allowing users to select solution elements or use assistants. Lenze also provides connections to digital services such as CAD, EPLAN, and supports users in creating PLC templates.
The construction phase includes engineering, commissioning and series production. Mechanical engineers can integrate, test and extend finished software modules using off-the-shelf software frameworks. Commissioning is done virtually, which shortens development times. Lenze relies on parallel development of software for mechanical and electrical systems, which shortens development times. In terms of IT software provision, Lenze offers tools to easily and efficiently install and manage containerized software on series machines.
During the operation phase, machine manufacturers support their customers in the operation of their machines. Thanks to the central machine management of the Lenze Nupano Suite, they can, for example, provide their customers with a service ticketing application for their machines or add anomaly detection. At the same time, users have full transparency about the software versions on their machines.
IT Inside Controller Edge Device Series
Lenze also offers perspectives on new machine controllers. It can take on control and IT tasks and therefore fits perfectly into the platform strategy. In Nuremberg, Lenze is also showing edge devices with pre-installed app management tools for extending IT externally or independently of the control inside the machine. Following the motto “Just move”, customers can transfer ready-to-use IT applications to the device.
New motor system in efficiency class IE5/IE7
There is also news from the field of drive technology. Lenze presents the highly innovative m550 motor system, a combination of the g500 geared motor, the i550 or i650 frequency converter and perfectly tailored software. The motor drive system in efficiency class IE5/IE7 is one of the most energy-efficient systems on the market. The hardware is seamlessly integrated into the Lenze Nupano Suite using the EASY System Designer.
However, the increased efficiency of the system does not mean that it requires more installation space. On the contrary. The motors are the same size as or even smaller than comparable IE2/IE3 motors.
Another highlight is that thanks to the software, synchronous motors are just as easy to use as asynchronous motors. It represents real added value for anyone planning and operating a conveyor system.
