Panasonic Industries’ new compact MINAS A7 servo drive family was recently launched and is now available for customer orders in Europe. The industry’s first AI-equipped servo system is commercialized. It employs Panasonic Industries’ proprietary “PrecAIse Tuning”, which uses AI technology to achieve high-precision automatic tuning without the need for skilled technicians. This also reduces setup time by up to 90%.
MINAS A7 motors and drives improve device performance while simplifying installation and operation. Thanks to the integrated AI, the servo system can automate tasks even in areas where experts have to spend time manually tuning machines due to the poor performance of traditional automatic tuning functions. It also offers industry-leading motion performance with a servo motor encoder resolution of 27 bits and 134,217,728 pulses per hour. The speed response frequency, which indicates the servo amplifier’s control performance, is the industry’s highest at over 4.0 kHz. The servo motor’s maximum speed also reaches 7,150 rpm, contributing to shorter cycle times. The MINAS A7 features a compact design that saves space and increases cost efficiency. Last but not least, the MINAS A7 servo drive is backward compatible with MINAS A6 devices. The same interface and flange size allows for 1:1 interchangeability.
Philippe Zebisch, Senior Team Manager, Product Management, Panasonic Industry, commented: “The development of the MINAS A7 series enables optimal man-machine operation with advanced intelligent automation and monitoring functions. It reduces installation time and maintenance costs and is ideal for spin coaters, dicing saws, chip transfer machines, IC handlers, bonding machines, board inspection equipment, metal and laser processing machines, injection molding machines, presses and pipe bending machines.
