The MOVI-C® CONTROLLER UHX86A expands the MOVI-C® modular automation system’s controller portfolio at the top end of the performance range. Variants are available with different Intel® processors, either Celeron® or CoreTM i3 to i7. This makes it very easy to adapt the performance of the hardware to the application.

There are also several fieldbus options. The device can be integrated into PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IPTM, and Modbus/TCP infrastructures. In addition, there is a range of options when it comes to the capacity of the main memory, hard disks, and NVRAM memory for long-term data storage.

Also included as standard is an EtherCAT® interface (or SEW-EURODRIVE’s own SBusPLUS protocol) for connecting frequency inverters from the MOVI-C® modular automation system for rapid motion control, not to mention a large number of other EtherCAT® devices. As with other controllers from SEW-EURODRIVE, MOVI-C® CONTROLLER UHX86A supports the routing of PROFIsafe data for transmitting safety-relevant information in automation applications with functional safety. Consequently, this device is not only ideal for use as a motion controller or machine control, but can also be used as a cyber-physical controller (CPC) for Industry 4.0 applications. The device is delivered with a native hypervisor, meaning two operating systems can be run on the controller without interfering with each other. As a result, the real-time operating system needed for the automation and motion control can run alongside a multi-purpose operating system such as Windows 10 IoT. The latter can be used to run database applications, data analysis, and visualization, or to provide a safe bridge to the IT infrastructure.

A wide range of applications can now be reliably covered by a single device, for both mobile and stationary applications – without making any compromises in terms of safety, security, industrial capability, or user-friendliness.
