The continuous optimization of industrial manufacturing processes requires dynamic, reproducible linear axes within small spaces. For fast handling and precise positioning of large masses up to 250 kg, such as battery modules or workpieces, Bosch Rexroth is expanding its family of compact modules in size 280.

Solutions available with ball screws (CKK) or belt drives (CKR) shorten the engineering of single-axis, multi-axis systems and Cartesian robots. Automation packages with motors, drive controllers, controllers and optional operating software speed up commissioning and facilitate operation.

The new compact modules in size 280 offer machine and plant engineering innovative solutions for the heavy-duty sector. Compared to the largest version to date, the 200, the performance (more weight with the same dynamics) has increased by around 56%. Many applications where speed and reproducibility are also important, such as the automated assembly of machine tools, furniture manufacturing or the high-performance assembly of battery modules, can now be implemented even faster and easier.

To meet the highest demands in terms of power density, dynamics and precision, Bosch Rexroth has increased the inherent strength of the lightweight aluminum frame and the rigidity of the slides. This allows payloads of up to 250 kg to be moved over lengths of 5,500 mm.

High accelerations of up to 5 g and maximum speeds of 5 m/s create optimal conditions for short cycle times with extremely high precision at the same time. Thanks to the appropriate drive and automation package, including optional pre-installed operating software, implementation becomes even faster. In this way, the time previously required for engineering and commissioning, including visual sequence programming, can be minimized, enabling you to respond to new challenges even faster.

In addition, Bosch Rexroth supports customer-specific combinations with other linear axes to form multi-axis systems and complete linear robots. After the market launch of the single-axis system, the new sizes will also be integrated into the e-tool chain for multi-axis systems. Furthermore, the principle of compact solutions is planned to be extended to include other applications, and the range of applications will be continuously expanded.
