Mitsubishi Electric has introduced its newest FR-D800 series inverters, created to provide enhanced performance, straightforward operation, and greater energy efficiency for various industrial applications.
Sleek and user-friendly, the latest series offers impressive performance with features aimed at streamlining selection, installation, and usage.
Emphasizing user convenience, the FR-D800 inverters come with a door-like surface cover and built-in wiring, streamlining the installation process. The FR-D800 is as much as 37% smaller*1 compared to its predecessor, leading to smaller enclosure size needs, enabling more versatile mounting options, and lowering installation expenses. A fresh
The USB Type-C interface allows users to configure settings directly from a PC without needing to turn on the inverter, simplifying both setup and maintenance.
The inverters assist in energy conservation through sophisticated synchronous motor control, leading to reduced power usage and lower operational expenses. Its efficient motor drive and reduced power consumption while idle also help decrease the carbon footprint, promoting more sustainable manufacturing methods.
“With the FR-D800 series, we wanted to create an inverter that both new and experienced users can use with confidence,” said Shotaro Marumoto, Inverter Development Section Leader at Mitsubishi Electric. “We’ve made it straightforward while delivering the advanced performance businesses need to improve productivity, save energy, and meet their sustainability goals.”
The FR-D800 series is ideal for various applications, including conveyors, pumps, food processing machinery, and textile equipment. Chosen models*2 are also appropriate for tough, corrosive settings, thanks to circuit board safeguarding that complies with IEC 60721-3 3:1994 3C2/3S2 regulations. Additionally, FR-D800 inverters are capable of managing both induction and permanent magnet (PM) motors, removing the necessity for several inverters for various motor types. Built-in compatibility with widely-used Ethernet protocols such as CC-Link IE TSN, Modbus/TCP, and EtherNet/IP guarantees smooth incorporation into current industrial networks, allowing users to swiftly
incorporate it into their digital fabrication and intelligent manufacturing settings.
The series additionally simplifies maintenance. Its preventive maintenance capabilities encompass lifetime diagnostics for essential components such as capacitors and fans, assisting operators in identifying potential problems early, particularly when utilizing the FR Configurator2 support software. Detecting anomalies through existing patterns aids in lowering the chances of unforeseen downtime, and when a malfunction happens, analytical tools rectify the issue promptly.
“Marumoto emphasized that energy efficiency, ease of use, and dependability are crucial for contemporary automation applications and the industry as a whole.” “The FR-D800 series demonstrates Mitsubishi Electric’s dedication to delivering solutions that fulfill these requirements while aiding in a more sustainable future.”
The FR-D800 series is set to be released worldwide in March 2025, featuring models tailored for various voltage needs, such as single-phase 100V, 200V, and three-phase 400V alternatives.
