With over 400 square metres of stand space, Omron will be showcasing products from across its automation portfolio, from sensors and actuators to advanced controllers and comprehensive safety options. With such a vast range of products and applications expertise, Omron will also demonstrate how it can deliver real added value for its customers.

Since the launch of its Sysmac Automation Platform one year ago, Omron has been busy developing new products to extend the platform, all featuring the same ease of integration and unified programming. Many of these new products will be launched or shown for the first time at SPS/IPC/Drives, Stand 9-350, Hall 9.Products on show include a new safety controller and safety I/O, enhanced vision sensor technology, new sensor ranges, impressive HMIs, and a new compact PLC with on-board Ethernet communications as standard.

With the new Sysmac safety controller in combination with the new Sysmac NX I/O series, Omron has an innovative solution for integrated safety within automation applications. These new Sysmac platform product extensions will be a key focus on the stand. Another important focus will be on robotics and motion control; SPS/IPC/Drives 2012 will see the launch of the Sysmac NJ3 controller for applications with 4 or 8 axes of motion and the Sysmac NJ501-4500 controller for the control of up to eight robots. The capabilities of these new controllers will be showcased with live robot and linear motion demonstrations.

Further new products include the FQ2 vision sensor range with true colour processing and processing and enhanced capabilities, and the E3FA cylindrical sensor series with a host of different models and three performance classes to the meet the specific requirements of individual applications. Omron will also showcase the compact CP1L PLC with on-board Ethernet as standard for communications and programming, and the new NB series HMIs for small and medium sized machines, with screen sizes ranging from 3.5 to 10 inches. There will also be the preview of the new S8VK series, the smallest switch-mode power supplies in the market which withstands the toughest environments.

Beside the introduction of new products and applications, Omron will also be introducing the new 361° product strategy for sensors and components. This new approach puts the customer at the centre of the product selection process, by giving a choice between three distinct lines within each sensor or component product category. This will be explained further at the show, using the new E3FA photoelectric sensor series as a key example.
