Automated schematic creation gives faster results and fewer errors. Solution provider Eplan has developed various technological approaches for this. One of them is the cloud-based software eBuild, which allows users to easily generate projects with the click of a mouse. The new version 2025 is now available. It offers clear advantages in terms of ease of use, operation, but also in configuration and schematic creation.
Automatically creating schematics is not new. How this works is becoming more and more innovative, but one thing is clear: the cloud is now an integral part of this. Eplan’s eBuild software, fully integrated in the Eplan Cloud, is even easier to use and offers maximum simplicity. The new version 2025, now available, features numerous improvements for a more efficient use of macro technology in engineering. “We have developed a solution that is easy to use and at the same time highly innovative in functionality,” says Holger Janssen, Business Owner, Functional Design at Eplan.
Working in the cloud – now even easier and more context-sensitive
The user interface has been optimized, allowing users to get an overview of their projects even faster. For example, the new Navigator bar allows users to constantly monitor the eBuild configuration and generation process. But that’s not all when it comes to technology. “Users can achieve their goals faster with the new contextual, inline app-assist technology,” says Jansen. “This new help functionality is embedded inline directly in eBuild, making it even easier to use.”
Here’s how it works
The process is very simple: users simply log in to Eplan Cloud and can access their projects via their company organization in the cloud. No software installation is required for this. In the Project Builder, which is part of Eplan eBuild, you can select the corresponding macro library and configure or generate the project. A new Navigator supports the user by simplifying the selection process. On the system side, compliance with guidelines and standards also ensures consistent data consistency from product construction to real project implementation.
Configuration in the cloud gives easier and faster results
Rule sets and configuration interfaces can be created intuitively and quickly without knowledge of higher programming languages. Knowledge of EPLAN macro technology is sufficient here. These Eplan macros will be expanded to include a set of rules for eBuild. Using this configuration method, the user enters the customer’s requirements for a machine or system. New in eBuild 2025 is the ability to perform configuration via an internet browser on Windows, Android, or iOS. This means that there is nothing stopping you from using eBuild as an engineering configurator on your mobile device.
Cloud generation further enhances collaboration
In addition to configuration, project generation in eBuild 2025 is also fully cloud-based, so there is no longer any need to install Eplan software locally. Schematics can be created directly in the cloud via Eplan projects provided by eManage. With eView, Eplan’s own viewer on the cloud, you can view projects and documents on any device: tablet, smartphone, browser, and of course it works in both iOS and Android environments. Plans can be reviewed here and changes can be fed back into the project using the viewer’s redline and greenline functions.
Conclusion
With Eplan eBuild on the cloud, you can now create schematics from your internet browser. The advantages are clear: not only can schematics be created during the design process, but they are also available at the click of a mouse much earlier in the bidding process and in the pre-planning phase of the project.
