Beijer Electronics announces the launch of its latest innovation in HMI technology, the X3 Series. The X3 Series ushers in a new era of open HMI platforms with the introduction of OS3, a robust and versatile operating system that opens up endless possibilities for software applications.
Versatility and quality at its core
The all-black X3 HMI panels are perfectly engineered and extensively certified for general manufacturing, marine and rugged applications, available in sizes from 7 to 21 inches. The X3 Series embodies Beijer Electronics’ commitment to quality and ease of use, combining popular features of the X2 family with exciting new innovations.
OS3, a robust and versatile operating system
X3 delivers an open platform and introduces OS3, an operating system for an enhanced software experience. When it comes to setting up the HMI, the OS3 operating system makes everything run smoothly. It’s intuitive and easy. In addition, OS3 supports container technology, which opens up new possibilities for software applications.
Enhanced Cybersecurity for a Secure Future
We are committed to complying with IEC 62443 while improving the security and reliability of our HMI platforms. The X3 has a high level of cybersecurity, using advanced software, encryption, and protection measures. The balance of openness and strong defenses ensures a secure and reliable platform.
Seamless migration with advanced features
Designed for easy migration, the X3 series maintains the same cutout size and connector type as the X2 series, minimizing installation adjustments. Projects can be quickly converted to iX3 projects, and NuGet simplifies the process for older C# scripts. Even if you are switching from an HMI from another manufacturer, switching to X3 is easy and rewarding.
New possibilities with iX3 and WebIQ
The X3 series is supported by the updated iX3 software tools, which provide an updated user interface and new features, including an extensive list of drivers and extensions to customize iX applications with C# and NuGet support. Users can continue to run iX applications similar to the X2 series.
The WebIQ software further expands the options and fits perfectly into the X3 Web HMI. WebIQ is based on open web technologies such as OPC-UA, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript and supports responsive layouts, so the HMI works on both computers and tablets.
Availability
The launch of the X3 series will begin in the first quarter of 2025, starting with the X3 Web HMI. Further X3 HMIs will then be released in stages. The launch of the X3 marks an important milestone for Beijer Electronics, which continues to lead the industry with cutting-edge technology and user-centric design.
