With the NORDAC PRO SK 500P, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS has a control cabinet converter for almost every drive application. Available in a power range from 0.25 to 22 kW, it can be assigned to the various requirements of different industries. The system provider is currently working on expanding its range of services.
A control standard across multiple applications – this was the goal NORD set itself when developing the NORDAC PRO SK 500P. The result is a control cabinet converter with properties that allow high versatility and intelligent communication with system components. This means that NORD users can reduce the number of inverter types and rely on one system in the long term.
Versatile integration
As with all NORDAC PRO inverters, the integrated multiprotocol Ethernet interface is one of the central elements. This allows the integration of the control components into various networks without modification. These include Profinet, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP and POWERLINK protocols. Depending on the model, additional protocols are covered. The USB interface also enables voltage-free parameterization of the inverter.
The integrated PLC reacts independently to process changes in the system. In this way, higher-level control systems can be relieved. The POSICON positioning function implements various positioning tasks. Controlling the relative or absolute position via incremental or absolute encoders is likewise possible. Continuous positioning of up to four axes is possible by switching parameter sets.
Control of equipment from hoists to pumps
The NORDAC PRO SK 500P allows users to implement a wide variety of industry-specific drive applications. The inverter in the control cabinet features vector control with 200% overload protection. This makes it suitable for controlling geared motors in heavy-duty applications and lifting systems. The PI controller and integrated compensation control make the frequency converter suitable for pumps and wound systems. The booksize frequency inverters require very little space in the control cabinet and can be placed directly next to each other without gaps.
More sizes in the works
The NORDAC PRO SK 500P allows you to control all types of motors with or without encoder feedback. To make its benefits available across an even wider performance range, NORD is currently working on new converter sizes.
