Oriental Motor is presenting a variety of innovative drive technology solutions at the SPS 2024 in Nuremberg. The highlights include stepper motors with powerful Neugart gears, BLDC drives for particularly precise positioning movements and space-saving multi-axis drivers.
Oriental Motor will be showing numerous drive solutions at its exhibition stand that impress with their performance and compactness as well as their energy efficiency. The CVD series multi-axis driver for 2- or 5-phase stepper motors, for example, can control up to four axes simultaneously. This saves machine and plant manufacturers a lot of wiring effort and installation space. The driver can be easily and conveniently connected to the fieldbus network via an Ethernet cable. The setting and execution of operating data as well as the setting of various parameters, the output of alarm information and monitoring functions can therefore be controlled via the network. Commands and status messages are transmitted in real time.
Compact version saves a lot of installation space
A particularly compact version of the AZ multi-axis driver is completely new: Here, the dimensions have been reduced by another 66 percent compared to the standard multi-axis driver. The Slim Type multi-axis driver was specially developed for use with the highly efficient stepper motors of the AZ series from Oriental Motor. Thanks to their EtherCAT interface, they enable continuous communication between IT and production networks and the easy integration of closed loop stepper motors in applications with state-of-the-art communication environments. All drives in the AZ series can be configured with the MEXE02 parameterization software, which also includes various monitoring functions.
Adapter ensures easy installation
Designers can also save costs and installation space with the linear actuator with mounting adapter from the LA series. Using the actuator reduces the number of components required for assembly. Designers can thus save valuable installation space. The linear actuators of the LA series from Oriental Motor have a high repeat positioning accuracy of ± 0.05 mm.
Gearboxes for demanding applications
The AZ stepper motors with integrated PLE planetary gears from Neugart offer a high torque density combined with maximum efficiency. The gears are characterized by a high output torque of up to 150 Nm, have an average service life of 30,000 hours and operate with maximum efficiency even at the highest speeds. In addition, the gears are lightweight, have a high torque density and a wide range of gear ratios (i=5 to i=40). Thanks to their low-friction deep groove ball bearings, optimized lubrication and low play, the PLE planetary gears are also suitable for use in very demanding production processes.
Even more flexibility for designers
With the BLDC drives of the BLV-R series, users now have even more options: Oriental Motor has expanded the range to include a new 24 VDC driver for motors with a nominal output power of 400 W. Two 400 W motors with a flat gear can now move an automated guided vehicle together with a load of 500 kg at a speed of 0.7 m/s. The smooth starting and stopping of the BLV-R drives across the entire speed range (1 to 4,000 rpm) also allows the vehicles to avoid objects without affecting the load.
The BLV-R drives are also ideal for operating mixers, conveyor belts with a wide speed control range and surveillance cameras that need to perform quiet movements.
