Oriental Motor’s new two-axis driver enables significant space savings. Compared to the previous model, the size has been reduced so much (seven centimeters in length) that there are still size advantages compared to the use of two single-axis drivers.
The new driver controls the AZ motors equipped with a mechanical absolute value sensor, these are highly efficient closed-loop stepper motor drives. The same motors are also used to drive actuators such as linear guides, cylinders, turntables or rack and pinion systems. This means that the driver can be used in a variety of ways and covers a wide range of possible applications. With a combination of different drives, the management of the components is thus significantly simplified.
Connect quickly
Another advantage: When using the two-axis driver, less wiring is required. The driver is EtherCAT-compatible, and the connection to the fieldbus network is easy and convenient via the Ethernet cable. The setting and execution of operating data as well as the setting of various parameters, the output of alarm information and monitoring functions can be controlled via the network. Commands and status messages are transmitted in real time. In this way, the movements of several synchronously working stepper motors can be carried out reliably and precisely.
Appropriate versions of the multi-axis driver are available for applications with three or four axes. All multi-axis drivers are operated with 24/48 VDC.
Oriental Motor will also be presenting the two-axis driver and other innovations at HANNOVER MESSE from May 30 to June 2, 2022. You will find the company at booth F38 in hall 6.
