At bauma 2025 in Hall C2, Stand 309, the Schmersal Group will showcase comprehensive systems featuring cutting-edge components for condition monitoring and protection of conveyor systems used in the transport of raw materials. Schmersal provides options to safeguard individuals and equipment, as well as to supervise the conveyor belt.

Drive systems and pulleys within conveyor systems represent areas with especially high risk potential for operating personnel. To protect these dangerous areas, Schmersal provides not only suitable safety switches and solenoid interlocks, but also protective fences and guard doors.

A fresh answer for this kind of protective mechanism is the DHS door handle system: this door handle combines the attributes of a sturdy door handle with the exhibition of specific machine statuses through lighting integrated into the handle. The handle indicates various machine statuses across its surface with seven distinct colours. The user has the ability to manage the colors separately to indicate specific machine states. The door handle system can function alongside the AZM40 and AZM300 safety interlocks or as a completely independent solution.

Control and signaling equipment for severe conditions

Schmersal provides an extensive selection of control and signaling devices for the management, regulation, and supervision of conveyor systems. Devices in the R series are crafted as ‘heavy-duty’ models and are appropriate for operation in severe conditions. The R series withstands mechanical stresses and allows for comfortable operation even when gloves are worn. ATEX variants of devices in the R series are also offered.

With AI assistance: the innovative ‘Rip Prevent+’ belt surveillance system

Maximum availability and as little downtime as possible are the absolute fundamentals of bulky goods transport. At bauma 2025, the Schmersal Group and its system partner SHG – Conveyor Control GmbH will demonstrate how Predictive Analytics and Predictive Maintenance can be used to maximise the efficiency of conveyor systems. The new ‘Rip Prevent+’ belt monitoring system from SHG analyses the data from the conveyor belt using an AI-based calculation model.

In addition, the Rip Prevent+ system offers other functions to increase the availability of the conveyor system and provide process information that is relevant to the user. These functions include:

  • Motor monitoring
  • Electrical network analysis
  • Energy efficiency analysis
  • Mass flow calculation
