The new device variant from the SD4x product family offers a wide range of features. Thus, SD4B is not only designed as high-dynamic servo amplifier for the operation of rotary and linear low-voltage servo motors but the device is also suited to the optimized operation of high-speed low-voltage synchronous and asynchronous motors.
Thanks to its width of only 25 mm, SD4B requires very little installation space. Nevertheless, the device combines many functions in its IP20 housing despite its compact dimensions. The frequency converter is, for example, equipped with the safety function Safe Torque Off (STO) as well as interfaces for CANopen and Modbus TCP as standard. A multiprotocol real-time Ethernet interface is offered as an option, making a flexible communication between the higher ranking control via EtherCAT (CoE), PROFINET IO and POWERLINK possible. Beside the TTL encoder input and output, five digital inputs/outputs each as well as an Ethernet interface for easy parameterization are available to the users
In the high-speed range, SD4B as a frequency converter allows sensorless operation of synchronous motors up to 240,000 rpm and asynchronous motors up to 360,000 rpm. In addition, a sensor-based control with TTL encoders is available. This way, the device can operate several high-speed motors with angular synchronism via master/slave connection, which is useful, for example, in the field of optical system applications. The robust speed control can also cope with high mass inertia ratios of up to 1:100 between motor and tool
The NRTL/CSA certified devices are easily integrated into systems for the US market with no additional approvals needed.
