With the compact MOVITRAC® Classic frequency inverter, SEW-EURODRIVE completes its portfolio in the field of inverter technology for control cabinet installation. The focus is on compatibility, flexibility and scalability.

Whether for conveyor belts, hoists or palletizers, when using converters, installation space, costs, ease of use and functionality must be right. For maximum scalability, SEW-EURODRIVE is bringing to the market at SPS 2024 a new component of the MOVI-C® automation modular system: the MOVITRAC® Classic inverter.

This means that the MOVITRAC® series is now available in the “Basic”, “Classic” and “Advanced” versions, which differ in their areas of application without compromising compatibility with the rest of the MOVI-C® automation modular system. The cost-optimized frequency inverter MOVITRAC® Basic is suitable for many application areas due to its simple speed control in the low power range up to 1.5 kW. The compact MOVITRAC® Classic frequency inverter with integrated STO safety function and power up to 11 kW can be used for applications where speed and torque are controlled without an encoder.

The powerful MOVITRAC® Advanced frequency inverter is extremely versatile thanks to its configurable device concept and innovative single-cable technology in combination with a digital encoder for synchronous and asynchronous motors. The range of possible applications ranges from sensorless speed control to dynamic positioning operations in the power range up to 315 kW.

All three inverters can be connected to control systems used worldwide, e.g. via PROFINET or EtherNet/IPTM. This allows for smooth integration into the topology with other products of the SEW-EURODRIVE MOVI-C® automation modular system. Depending on the requirements, it can be used in many industrial sectors, such as logistics, the automotive industry or the food and beverage industry.
