A flexible and open control architecture is a key factor in the automation of automated guided vehicle systems. SIGMATEK’s portfolio includes the extremely compact and robust S-DIAS automation system, consisting of control, safety, drive technology and I/Os with special modules for AGV/AMR as well as open software products. The fleet management system “Traffic Control System”, TCS for short, supports the VDA 5050 protocol and thus enables manufacturer-independent interaction between the control system/fleet management system and AGV/AMR. With the open SlamLoc software from SIGMATEK, contour-based navigation is possible in real time.

An important point in the development was for the Salzburg automation expert to enable maximum flexibility and to give the user control over his system. The interpreter can be used to implement both simple and very complex applications using low-code. The interfaces are based on MQTT or HTTP REST, which enables seamless integration into the system. AGVs from different manufacturers can be integrated into a system with the TCS.

Efficient route planning

The TCS offers smart features, e.g. routes can be created according to the shortest or fastest route, vehicle alarms and errors are managed in a central view and SLAM maps can be easily loaded from the vehicles in the system.

The integrated simulation mode allows deadlock scenarios to be predicted and steps to be taken before they occur, ensuring robust operation of the system. If a blockage is detected, e.g. due to an external fault, the system reacts and searches for possible alternative routes.

High vehicle availability

The statistics module of the fleet management system enables an in-depth analysis of vehicle availability: details such as the type of vehicle malfunctions that have occurred and their duration per shift are visible at the touch of a button. As the statistics module is freely configurable, the user can define individual events tailored to his process. These can be displayed in the web-based interface and exported in universal formats via the HTTP REST API.

SLAM navigation: continuous adaptation to reality

With SlamLoc, SIGMATEK offers open, real-time location software that takes contour-based navigation to a new level. SlamLoc is ready to use in just a few minutes, does not require any pre-installed plans and determines a pose that is accurate to ±10 mm and ±1 ° in real time – even when contours change significantly.
