Simplified Motion Series Control with Omron PLC through EtherCAT by Festo CPX-AP-I IO-Link Master

This Application Note explains about Simplified Festo Motion Series actuator units for following functions: Axis IN/OUT Control, Read/Write Parameters & Read Diagnostic Data. Blocks are tested and released for Festo CPX-AP-I IO-Link Master.

This application note demonstrates the controlling of simple motion systems like EMCS-ST, EGSS-BS, ELGS-TB/- BS, ELGS-TB, ERMS, EPCS-BS & EPCE-TB with Omron PLC NJ-301 (Sysmac Studio) through Festo CPX-AP-I IO-Link Master.

The library has 5 block variants based on its function.

1. The “SMS_Festo_Advance” includes to access all advanced parameters.
2. The “SMS_ Festo _Basic” has access to few mandatory parameters.
3. The “SMS_ Festo _Intermediate” allows access to user commands primarily for Intermediate position and move commands..
4. The “SMS_ Festo _IO” has only basic function to control the actuator unit IN & Out Movements.
5. The “SMS_Festo_Parameter” has access for advanced Acyclic parameters.
