At this year’s “Components Special Trade Fair by Interpack”, the automation company Pilz will be focusing on flexible and economical solutions for packaging machines.
The key areas will be solutions around the Smart Factory. Also new in Düsseldorf: the electrically activated E-STOP pushbutton PITestop active, which provides safety and productivity in the spirit of Industrie 4.0, particularly in the packaging sector.
Whether you need machines with an elementary function range or interlinked plant and machinery: Pilz offers manufacturers and operators of packaging machines complete solutions for safety and automation. These include universal solutions from the fields of sensor, control and drive technology, plus visualisation.
A modular plant construction is the key to greater flexibility in production: At Components, Pilz will be using a model of the Smart Factory to demonstrate how individualised products can be manufactured in a way that’s flexible, cost-efficient and user-friendly. The model is composed of three modules in a network, manufacturing personalised products in an intelligent assembly line.
New to the Smart Factory is the electrically activated E-STOP pushbutton PITestop active. It indicates by illumination whether or not it is active. It can be used to safely activate or deactivate machine and plant sections as required, in accordance with ISO 13850.
PITestop active is beneficial for plant and machinery in which plant sections are moved. It enables flexible safety concepts, such as those required primarily in the packaging industry, to be implemented simply. The electrically activated E-STOP pushbutton contributes to greater flexibility and modularisation, even on packaging machines.
With PITestop active, it is no longer necessary to maintain power to the complete plant in order to preserve the emergency stop function, so users can also benefit from reduced energy costs.
Pilz is exhibiting in Hall 18, Stand B16.
