Thermal management specialist STEGO Elektrotechnik is presenting its switch cabinet heaters in a new loop design at this year ‘s SPS in Nuremberg . An update of the switch cabinet thermostats KTO KTS as well as new smart sensors complete the STEGO portfolio for the SPS trade fair reboot . Control cabinet heaters in the new loop design.
With the new LPS and LTS product series, STEGO has updated its PTC-based convection heaters in the power range from 10 to 150 W. Heat sinks in the new loop profile design absorb the heat output of the PTC elements better and ensure a constant preload that keeps the heaters tight.
The LTS series heaters are able to comply with the standards for mobile railway applications (DIN EN 60068-2-27:2010-02 and DIN EN 60068-2:64:2009-04). STEGO consistently relies on push-in terminals for the electrical contacting of the LPS and LTS series. Easily accessible on the front of the device, the push-in terminals save up to 50% time by inserting the cables without tools. The clamps exert constant pressure on the supply lines – a plus in terms of safety, e.g. B. also when transporting pre-assembled control cabinets. Loosening of the connection lines and thus a short circuit is impossible.
Bimetallic thermostat e KTO KTS relaunched
With the new edition of the KTO / KTS, STEGO took the opportunity to optimally adapt its mechanical thermostats to the needs of switch cabinet construction in practice. The thermostats are designed as two-point controllers with a thermal bimetal sensor element. The KTO 111 is an opener (NC) for controlling heaters. The KTS 111 is a make contact (NO) for controlling filter fans, heat exchangers, cooling devices or signal transmitters. Push-in terminals are used for electrical contact. They ensure a safe, tool-free and faster connection of the power supply lines. Users can count on assembly times being reduced by up to 50%. The STEGO engineers have also optimized the housing design: The thermostat now literally gets more air.
Distance Smart Sensor D SS 015 monitors distances using ultrasound
The newly developed Distance Smart Sensor DSS 015 determines the distance to objects using ultrasonic wave propagation time measurement (ToF – T ime o f F light). A suitable application for the Distance Smart Sensor DSS 015 is distance or fill level monitoring in industrial applications. Special feature: The DSS 015 even recognizes transparent objects such as glass, foil or liquids. It is also insensitive to changing light conditions. It can be easily connected to higher-level control systems (e.g. PLC) via its IO-Link interface.
The STEGO Sensor Hub and its sensors
STEGO is expanding its range of sensors for industrial applications in the IO-Link environment. With the Sensor Hub SHC 071, the Schwäbisch Hall-based company presents a cost-efficient interface that easily integrates STEGO sensors into IO-Link installations. At the process level, the Sensor Hub SHC 071 records measurement data from up to four external, non-IO-Link capable STEGO sensors and transmits the data via IO-Link masters to higher-level control units, e.g. B. Edge computer, cloud, PLC control, etc. When using the sensor hub, up to four external STEGO sensors can be connected, but they only use one connection on the IO-Link master and thus have a gentle impact on the connection capacities of the IO-Link master.
The number of connected sensors and the slot assignment can be freely selected. Sensors from the SEN 073 series are available for the sensor hub. The sensors are pre-calibrated and can be easily connected to the sensor hub using a plug-in connection. The bundling of the IO-Link function in the sensor hub enables a compact design of the sensors. Sensors of the SEN 073 series are available for data acquisition in these fields of application: temperature and relative humidity, temperature and absolute air pressure, visible light, illuminance and VOC.
SPS trade fair reboot – experience STEGO live in Nuremberg
Back to normality – physical trade fairs such as the SPS are currently undergoing a reboot. The personal interaction between suppliers and buyers is also in demand in times of digitization. The experts from STEGO are available to visitors to the SPS trade fair from November 8th to 10th in Nuremberg with knowledge and advice on everything to do with thermal management in the control cabinet. At stand 207 in hall 3, the STEGO product portfolio in the areas of heating, cooling, control, measurement and lighting is on display. STEGO CONNECT – the simple IIoT platform for condition monitoring of industrial systems with IO-Link technology will be exhibiting in hall 6 at booth 150H.
