Introducing the Step Power by Phoenix Contact, the pioneering KNX power supply, featuring an active KNX choke and offering all significant KNX status details clearly displayed on its built-in color screen. This indicates that it merges efficiency with on-site diagnostics.

KNX is a robust and adaptable standard for automating buildings. It facilitates the smooth incorporation of different devices used for managing lighting, heating, air conditioning, curtains, security systems, energy management, and additional functionalities. The KNX Step Power supply guarantees seamless bus communication. This is the initial KNX power supply featuring a nominal current of 640 mA and an active KNX choke. This adjusts dynamically to the connected load of the KNX devices and enhances the efficiency of the bus system to a KNX communication of 1,200 mA.

In contrast to the passive KNX chokes offered on the market, here it is possible to guarantee a full load of up to 1,200 mA without hitting magnetic saturation. Moreover, the built-in color display shows all pertinent KNX status information at a glance. It not only shows the present system condition but also offers abundant information through the menu. This is mainly utilized for the configuration, troubleshooting, and expansion of the KNX system.

This leads to several benefits for users and system operators: the BUS and AUX outputs are displayed independently, allowing for more targeted error analysis. Additionally, the time overload performance is logged in the device and can be accessed through the display. Once the KNX system is reset, the runtime – although not the cumulative device runtime – is set back to zero, allowing for precise identification of when an error event occurs.

The broad input range supporting both AC and DC allows for global use and adjusts for power supply variations, ensuring that KNX communication remains unaffected. The incorporated Push-in lever connections finalize the management of the Step Power bus power supply.
