For SPS 2022 in Nuremberg, Germany (November 8 to 10), STOBER has prepared various trade fair models – for the predictive maintenance of geared motors, for demonstrating connectivity with the Siemens Motion world, and for showing how economically the second generation of PE planetary geared motors works with the Lean motor. The message at the booth is how users can benefit from reliable, economical and powerful solutions.

Pforzheim, 2022-10-11 – In Nuremberg, STÖBER Antriebstechnik GmbH + Co. KG will present a feature for the predictive maintenance of geared motors on a trade fair model. The star feature of this IoT solution is that the user does not require any special know-how to evaluate information and handle it accordingly.

No additional sensors, cables, software or other hardware components are required. Predictive Maintenance from STOBER provides users with maximum transparency and unrestricted access to the measured data of their drive system. Users can recognize trends and are consequently able to act as efficiently as possible.

Digital twin – STOBER powered by Siemens

STOBER goes PROFIdrive & PROFIsafe – in cooperation with Siemens, STOBER will show its full connectivity with Siemens Motion solutions using a digital twin. For implementing complex applications, STOBER now supports drive integration using PROFIdrive and certified communication using PROFIsafe for the highest safety requirements (SIL 3, PL e, category 4). The model includes various components from the drive specialist, such as bevel gear wheel motors and planetary geared motors as well as drive controllers of the SI6 series. Siemens provided the necessary software for the provision of CAD data and for the actual simulation.

Precision in size XL

The fourth generation of the PH series from STOBER is a large servo planetary gear unit that stands out especially for its impressive precision. The low-backlash PH gear unit also features excellent energy efficiency. Particularly in combination with the compact synchronous servo motors of the EZ series, users benefit from a geared motor with a lower mass moment of inertia due to the omission of a motor adapter.

Do you design gravity-loaded axes? Then you can depend on the STOBER 2-brake solution in this case! We will demonstrate our XL precision gear unit in combination with an extremely compact synchronous servo motor with holding brakes and an additional brake in a motor adapter.

However, the system is only really safe with the SD6 drive controller and SE6 safety module developed in cooperation with Pilz GmbH & Co. KG. This gives planners and engineers a system solution that fulfills the requirements of EN ISO 16090-1 for gravity-loaded vertical axes.

E stands for economy

Another trade fair model will show the second generation of planetary geared motors of the PE series in combination with the economical Lean motor from STOBER. Compared to common straight-cut gear units, the helical gearing of this economy version ensures low operating noises and a high degree of evenness.

The user benefits from an economical and simultaneously powerful solution. In the second generation, the developers were able to increase the acceleration torque by 45 percent and even increase the nominal torque by 50 percent. This means a significant improvement in performance. The gear units are also lighter and more compact.

The one-cable solution

In Nuremberg, STOBER will also display its One Cable Solution (OCS) at the SPS 2022. The drive specialist has further advanced the solution in collaboration with encoder manufacturer HEIDENHAIN, bringing the next generation to the market. Thanks to the future-proof HEIDENHAIN EnDat® 3 protocol, the hybrid cable can reliably connect motors and drive controllers at a distance of up to 100 meters. Its special feature is that it transmits signals from the motor to the drive controller at a distance of up to 50 meters, without errors or expensive output chokes. Users receive a complete system consisting of synchronous servo motor, cable and the appropriate drive controller.
