The national industry stands by as organizer Reed Exhibitions Messe Wien today (9th October 2012) kick-starts the “VIENNA-TEC”, the biggest international show for technical trades and industries in Austria. Expectations of all participants are high as the “VIENNA-TEC” is thought to be the crucial indicator for technological developments in Austria and in the adjoining CEE- and SEE-region for the next two years.

In the centre of attention: innovation and news from industry and trade. Four days, until 12th October 2012, exhibitors and visitors of the six trade shows united amongst the roof of the “VIENNA-TEC” (‘Automation Austria’, ‘Energy-Tec’, ‘IE Industrieelektronik’, ‘Intertool’, ‘Messtechnik’ and ‘SCHWEISSEN/JOIN-EX’) meet up here at the Messe Wien. 563 exhibitors and about 550 additional represented businesses from 32 countries world-wide are present at this year’s “VIENNA-TEC”. About 55,000 square meters exhibition space and parts of the Congress Center are needed for the “VIENNA-TEC” –equalling the size of seven soccer-fields. “The interest in the ‘VIENNA-TEC’ is very high, also the expectations of it”, says Matthias Limbeck (Dipl.-Ing.), Chief Executive responsible for the VIENNA-TEC on behalf of the organisers, Reed Exhibitions Messe Wien. “We are confident that the high degree of innovation at display during this trade show will be an effective initial priming for the industry itself.”

The inter-regional focus of the “VIENNA-TEC” on countries from the CEE- and SEE-regions has this year been geographically expanded with the inclusion of the strong economic region EURASIA. The goal is to provide bridging between Austria and its strong international economic partners. “All participants will benefit from this. We generally expect best contacts, good business and many impetuses for the industry and the trade”, adds Matthias Limbeck.

Strong international participation

“For this year’s ‘VIENNA-TEC’ we could attract a good mixture of both national and international exhibitors”, says “VIENNA-TEC”-trade fair manager, Eveline Sigl. Biggest share of exhibitors comes from Austria (379 in total), followed by German companies (116), exhibitors from the Russian Federation (18) and the Czech Republic (16). Businesses from Belgium, France, Great Britain, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary and many more are also present at the “VIENNA-TEC 2012”.

Special display section: Further training at the “VIENNA-TEC” extremely popular

Encouraging younger people to become involved in such fields of industry is an key goal pursued both by the domestic industrial sector and by the “VIENNA-TEC” organisers. Hence, this year the issues of vocational education and training have been even more closely framed. As a result several distinct theme sections have been set up with the main aim of arousing the interest of younger people in technology and the industrial sector. “The industry’s young and juniors should benefit from the ‘VIENNA-TEC’, they should learn to trust the business and their choice of job. In short they should get a good picture of what it takes to be successful in a technical job”, says Eveline Sigl. Therefore, next to exhibitor displays, there are to be a number of special premium showcases and side events at the “VIENNA-TEC”. Extensive side events

Also the list of side events of the “VIENNA-TEC” exceeds expectations. On every corner of the Messe Wien and the adjoining Congress Center there are events taking place expatiating the topics of industry and trade. For example: the “Innovation Mall”, where training and research institutions are introducing fascinating concepts and solutions for the technical trades and industries. Displays have been set up in the ‘Mall’; a 450 metre connecting hall between the Messe Wien Congress Center and the four expo halls. More information on:
