The machine vision industry is developing dynamically and gaining more and more significance. Innovative products are constantly capturing new markets and offering potential solutions for a wide range of industries.
From 4 to 6 October 2022, VISION will provide a platform for key stakeholders to present and discuss trending topics and innovations from the machine vision industry. Particular highlights of the event include the Industrial VISION Days and the presentation of the VISION Award.
The Industrial VISION Days are organised by VDMA Machine Vision together with Messe Stuttgart, with the forum focusing on visionary topics from the machine vision industry.
Mark Williamson, Chairman of VDMA Machine Vision says: “The Industrial VISION Days once again have lots of exciting topics covering all areas of machine vision, be it in camera technology, robot vision and 3D vision, software and AI, optics and illumination, hyperspectral imaging, machine vision standards as well as novel applications. Around 50 company presentations, 16 start-up pitches as well as presentations from the 5 finalists of the VISION Award show how innovative the machine vision industry is. Looking at the programme, Deep Learning continues to be the trending topic with many of the start-up pitches promising leaps in innovation in this area. I am of course intrigued and, as a member of the jury, I will be happy to be convinced in the 3 start-up pitch sessions!”
The forum serves as an important platform for the participating companies, as it gives them the opportunity to present pioneering innovations to a large trade audience.
Martin Grzymek, Director Sales Europe at Teledyne GmbH – DALSA Division underlines the importance of the Industrial VISION Days: “The Industrial VISION Days are an indispensable platform which enables Teledyne to make personal contact with users. In short, it is a welcome opportunity for us to present our latest developments and to find out how users’ demanding applications are driving forward innovation in the machine vision industry.”
The presentation line-up for the Industrial VISION Days is already available online at www.vision-fair.en/ivd.
An important part of the event is the VISION Award, which will once again be presented on the forum stage. This year will be the 25th time that the award has been given to honour the best innovations from the machine vision industry. “We received 61 entries in total – an increase of almost 40 per cent compared to last year. It’s an impressive figure,” says Florian Niethammer, Head of Trade Fairs & Events at Messe Stuttgart.
The VISION Award jury has looked at all of the entries and put together a shortlist of the most interesting developments.
“Among the entries for the VISION Award 2022, the trending topics in the machine vision industry were very much in evidence: embedded vision, artificial intelligence, components, vision toolboxes as well as algorithmic and application-specific working methods. The quality of the entries for the VISION Award was particularly high this year. As a result, we have five excellent companies – Brighter AI Technologies GmbH, Edge Impulse, Kitov.ai, Saccade Vision Ltd. and SWIR Vision Systems Inc. – who will now get to present their innovations live at VISION on 5 October 2022,” says Christian Ripperda, Managing Director of Interroll Innovation GmbH and member of the VISION Award jury.
