Personal encounters, professional exchange and innovative technologies: The SPS 2021 trade fair in Nuremberg, which will take place from November 23 to 25 – and VMware will be there. The event is one of the largest, international trade fairs for industrial automation for electrical automation, industrial software solutions, systems and components and will take place this year in the form of a hybrid format both on site in Nuremberg and digitally.
VMware will be represented at the trade fair with a team of experts from Germany and the USA in order to present the range of technologies and solutions for Smart Factory and Edge Computing. Current examples of VMware projects in the manufacturing industry will be shown at the VMware booth. The bandwidth of the solutions ranges from engineering and design optimization to production automation and value chain integration, for example in the context of the Catena-X project, a network for data exchange in the automotive industry. Technical experts from VMware will also be on site to address specific customer questions and problems and to discuss possible solutions.
Many companies in the manufacturing and automotive industries are currently going through a significant digital transformation in order to be more flexible, to promote automation in production and to continue growing with new business models. With new edge technology and an edge-to-core-to-any-cloud approach, VMware creates the ideal basis for bringing IT and OT together, implementing and rolling out Industry 4.0 technologies at production sites, and making applications and data available in real time and to protect yourself from cyber attacks.
Since the topic of sustainability is a top priority at VMware, the company is also helping to ‘neutralize’ the carbon footprint of trade fair visitors during the trade fair: We will protect 5m² of rainforest in Panama and issue a personal certificate for each visitor.
“We are very pleased to be represented at this year’s SPS in Nuremberg in order to give interested visitors exciting insights into our innovative technologies,” said Alexandra Baleta, Director, Manufacturing & Automotive Industry at VMware. “Our edge technology forms the basis for a digitized future in the manufacturing and automotive industries.”
