Yamaha Robotics’ Factory Automation division will be exhibiting at Motek 24 to demonstrate additional new solutions developed in collaboration with system integrator partners that leverage the flexible capabilities, performance and value of the Yamaha robot portfolio.

Since last year’s event, where visitors witnessed a YK1200X SCARA lifting and precisely placing a 35kg EV battery module at high speed, the team has been hard at work integrating robotic capabilities into many other scenarios. This time around, the booth will feature a robotic punching machine, demonstrating how it configures electrical connectors with great precision.

Another solution will demonstrate high-speed sorting and palletizing of small technical components. Each features a fully integrated Yamaha robot that picks, positions and precisely places components, maintaining fast and consistent cycle times and operating for long periods without intervention. Also on display will be an automated in-circuit functional tester in action, demonstrating how loading and unloading test assemblies by robots can reduce cycle times and improve quality control. An EV battery final processing demonstrator will be on the stand again, demonstrating the strength, speed and repeatability of the YK1200X. With an arm length of 1.2 meters and a maximum payload capacity of 50 kg, this SCARA can move heavy loads over a relatively wide range, supporting activities such as industrial production, packaging, warehousing and shipping.

“At Motek 2024, we will continue our mission to demonstrate how Yamaha robots of different sizes, from compact benchtop devices to compact benchtop devices, can improve productivity in various industries,” says Tatsuro Katakura, Group Manager, FA Section. “Our demonstration shows Motek visitors our collaboration with system integrators, who provide high-quality solutions and lead to new dialogues and other exciting projects.”

Yamaha’s work transport module LCMR200 will also be on display at the stand, with two demonstrations showing a horizontal circulation unit and a vertical circulation unit. The LCMR200 offers higher speeds than conventional conveyors, smoother linear motion, flexible digitally defined stopping positions, as well as many other advantages such as scalability, traceability and easy maintenance.

Yamaha Robotics can be found at Motek 2024, from 8 to 11 October at the Stuttgart Exhibition Center, Hall 7, Stand 7310.
